FInal Cut Express

So I've finally got a chance to start editing the footage after being ill for a week or so. I wanted to edit the footage at uni since they have Premier CS4 and what I assumed to be faster computers...Guess I'm worng, takes about 20 mins just to get the computer and CS4 started. So with that in mind now, I decided to get hold of Final Cut Express which is promised to handle .mts HD files. That was also not as easy I thought but after trying to figure it out the past 2 days I finally managed to get it running. Firstly there was an update that was essential, and abother thing is that you have to import footage specifically through log and transfer, drgging and dropping does not work. Also you have to import the files along with all the supporting files too. But now its all sorted out its time to edit!

I plan to have it by Monday.

Keep an eye out.

Studio ghibli Game!

When I was looking up information on studio ghibli and came across some news about a game that they are releasing. The game is called Ni No kuni (Second Land). It is a role playing game developed by studio ghibli and level -5 game developer.

This is the plot of the game, pulled diretly from wikipedia.

"The player assumes the role of a 13 year-old boy named Oliver, a resident of Hotroit City, whose mother, Arie, dies suddenly. A doll, previously given to Oliver by his mother, reveals itself to be a male fairy named Shizuku, who gives Oliver a magic book that allows him to go to the world of "Ninokuni," a reality parallel to his own, where the fairy states the boy may be able to revive his mother. There, he encounters alternate versions of people he knows."

There is 2 versions to be released, one on the Nintendo DS and one on the Playstation 3. The PS3 version will have gaming graphics strongly replicating the traditional animation art form of Studio Ghibli therefore this will definitely be a treat for anyone who appreciates that style.

Studio Ghibli produced some of my favourite films so I am very excited to see what they will make of this game. The brilliant animations and wonderful storytelling capabilities shown in past films makes me believe that this will be an amazing game and a huge success.

Photoshoot

I did the bands photoshoot for my band the other.

I used a sony alpha 200 and ran it through photoshoot for some basic editing.

I hightened the shadows slightly, increased the contrast and lowered the saturation. This give the photo a darker touch and a eerier feel.

Taken in derby out the music shed.
